Little girl lost

Little girl lost (poem)

This poem is about a little girl lost. Her family was frantically searching for her through the night. Some times people with untreated mental disorders do experience great fear. And his or her fear is very real to her!

little girl lost- illustrated by Chen Song Ping
Wen Li had nightmares.
One evening, missing she went.
The whole family searched in despair
and the whole night spent.

Her dad came back too.
In that dark early morning,
he found entangled – her shoes,
in the undergrowth; a chilling warning.

Huddled under a tree
was Wen Li; mosquitoes-bitten,
with bleeding feet, and hugging her knees;
a terrified, tear-dried, and pale-faced kitten.

How did she walk
so far away from home?
Both parents could not talk
on why she roamed.
